Coubertin Quote for Apr, 09
There is nothing like the habit of victory to assure success.

The idea that winning on the field of play would ensure success in other realms of life became a theme in Baron Pierre de Coubertin’s writing early on.  He believed that sport was an essential part of the fully lived life—and a strong foundation for individual achievement.  We posted a quote with a similar idea on February 1, “Excellence in one area creates the desire to be first in everything.”  Both were from the same article, English Education, which appeared in La Reforme Sociale in 1887.
