Coubertin Quote for Feb, 25
The most wonderful thing at the Olympics for me is that, at the end of everything, all the competitors from all over the world who have not known each other before get together for the closing ceremony. They hug each other. Usually some of them cry. It is as if they were really brothers and sisters, a family, about to separate...

This is a wonderful quote, which I've seen in multiple print pieces over the years, but the truth is I've never been able to verify that it is real. It sounds like the voice of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, for sure. It may be from an interview that has been lost. I don't know. I have searched through the Baron's writings but have been unable to identify its source. Nevertheless, it's too good to pass up today as Pyeongchang celebrates its beautiful Olympic festival with a 'wonderful' closing ceremony.
